Terms and Conditions for Car Rental in Chișinău and at the Airport

These Terms & Conditions apply to all car rental services provided by AutoInMoldova in Chișinău and throughout the Republic of Moldova. By signing the rental agreement, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and fully accept the conditions below. 1) Eligibility (age & driving licence)

• Minimum age: 23 years.
• Category B driving licence held for at least 3 years.
• At pickup, present ID/passport and the original driving licence.

2) Minimum rental period

• Minimum contract length: 2 days.
• For durations under 2 days, the two-day rate applies.

3) Vehicle use (obligations & restrictions)

The client must comply with Moldovan traffic regulations and company instructions. It is forbidden to use the vehicle for competitions, off-road, towing, or illegal transport; to use it as a taxi or for other commercial activities; or to allow third parties to drive without the company’s written consent. The client must keep the vehicle clean and roadworthy, refuel on time, and check fluid levels. Smoking is prohibited inside the vehicle.

4) Security deposit

• Citizens of RM: 2000 MDL or 100 EUR.
• Foreign clients: 350 EUR.
• The deposit is refunded in full at return if there are no damages, fines, or additional charges.

5) Payment & invoicing

Payment at pickup by cash or bank card (local/international). The invoice can be sent by e-mail or issued in print. For quick bookings, use online reservation.

6) Booking & cancellation

Bookings can be made online, by phone, or at the office; confirmation is sent after vehicle availability is verified. Cancellations less than 24 hours before pickup may incur a cancellation fee.

7) Fuel policy

Full-to-Full: the vehicle is delivered and must be returned with a full tank. Otherwise, the missing fuel plus a refuelling fee will be charged.

8) Roadside assistance, breakdowns & incidents

In case of breakdown/accident, immediately inform the company and, if required, call 112. Official information and alerts: Poliția Republicii Moldova. We provide 24/7 roadside assistance; subject to availability, a replacement vehicle may be provided. Compliance with procedures (reporting, official documents, deadlines) is mandatory.

9) Pickup & return

Pickup/return is free of charge at Chișinău Airport or at our city offices; delivery/collection in other locations in RM is available for a fee. Contacts & schedule: Contacte.

10) International travel

Leaving the territory of RM is allowed only with the company’s written consent and may involve additional costs (insurance, documents, mileage). For relevant public services and information, see Portalul Serviciilor Publice.

11) Client responsibility

The client is responsible for any damage to the vehicle during the rental period, except where covered by purchased insurance policies. Breach of these conditions may lead to immediate termination of the agreement and withholding of the deposit (in whole or in part, as applicable).

12) Insurance & optional protection

Basic third-party liability insurance (RCA) is included in the rental rate. You may add one of the optional packages:

12.1) All-Inclusive — €14/day (recommended)

• Zero Excess (no deductible) for damage where you are not at fault (subject to required documents).
• CDW — covers non-fault dents/scratches.
• TP (theft) — coverage in case of theft/attempted theft.
• WUG (tyres & windscreen) — punctures, cuts, windscreen cracks, minor glass/mirror damage.
• Interior — seats/upholstery/surfaces (covered cases).
• Mobility 24/7 — roadside assistance + replacement car (subject to availability).

Best for mixed routes (city + highway) and frequent street parking.

12.2) Smart — €5/day (balanced budget)

• Includes:

  • CDW — non-fault dents and scratches;

  • Theft Protection (TP) — full coverage in case of theft or attempted theft;

  • 24/7 Mobility — round-the-clock roadside assistance

Note: the contract’s standard deductible may still apply (if specified). Not included: WUG (tyres & windscreen) and Interior. Suitable for mainly urban trips at minimum cost.

12.3) No add-on / own credit-card insurance

You may tick “I do not want additional insurance” or use your own credit-card insurance (written proof required that it covers car rental in Moldova — limits, deductible, exclusions). In this case, financial responsibility/deposit remain per the contract, and you handle the claim directly with your card insurer.

13) Penalties & extra charges

Traffic/parking fines and any costs arising from vehicle use are borne by the client. Extra charges may apply for lost keys/documents, wrong fuel, special cleaning, smoking in the car, exceeding mileage (if applicable), late return, etc.

14) Updates to these terms

The company may update these terms; the version in force is published on the website and applies to bookings made after the update date.

Recommendation: for most clients, All-Inclusive (€14/day) offers maximum peace of mind. Smart (€5/day) is a good option for budget-friendly, city-focused trips. For quick bookings and questions, use online reservation or contact us via Contacts.
